RUGBY LEAGUE – Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has again taken aim at the QRL for its failure to appoint Kevin Walters (pictured) as Queensland State of Origin coach.
Walters was considered the logical choice to replace Mal Meninga after being his assistant for the last few years.
The QRL has nominated Cowboys coach Paul Green as their preferred option saying Walters lack of inexperience makes him a risk in the job but Bennett believes there’s risk in any appointment and Walters deserves his chance.
