A West Australian campaign is pushing for the state government to revive a twenty year old plan to convert 66 neglected properties into Indigenous ranger parks.
The properties – scattered around West Australia – make up more than five million hectares and were purchased by the state government in the 1990s as part of a plan to protect the state’s landscape and wildlife.
Many of the properties have gone under-managed as the plan was put aside by successive state governments.
With the state elections coming in March, a new campaign is seeking to push the plan back onto the agenda.
