Organisers of a fundraising event in Brisbane for the family of Lynette Daley over the weekend have praised the turnout and hopes others will jump on board to assist the family.

Two suspects believed to be responsible for the death Lynette Daily in northern New South Wales around 5 years ago have been charged for the second time following the release of an independent review commissioned by the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions.

Adrian Attwater and Paul Maris were charged in relation to Ms Daley’s murder, however the charges were dropped.

The family have since been fighting for the case to return to court.

Women with Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance organised a movie night, showing the 1998 film Radiance, to give Ms Daley’s family some financial support.

The group raised almost $1,100 and Gudang Yadhaykenu woman Anita Goon-Wymarra says money will go towards supporting her seven children.
