A new campaign launched today is encouraging Victorians to support key issues important to First Nations people that can be acted on while a treaty is still being worked on.
The Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations has launched the ‘Don’t stop now’ campaign to highlight topics and solutions that need urgent action from government.
Some of the issues include cultural burning, water rights, cultural heritage reform, renewable energy and game management.
CEO of the Federation, Paul Paton says we don’t have to wait for treaties to start solving these issues.
He spoke to NIRS about the campaign and what we need to start focusing on.
More information on the campaign can be found at FVTOC’s website.
