The Kidogo Irish Aboriginal Festival is set to take place in Fremantle over the weekend, bringing together the Aboriginal and Irish communities to celebrate their shared cultural heritage.

The festival will feature traditional music and dance performances, storytelling, and workshops on Aboriginal and Irish culture, with attendees also treated to a range of food and beverages from both cultures.

The festival, now in its third year, is being organized collaboratively by the local Aboriginal and Irish communities with the aim of promoting cultural understanding and appreciation.

Kidogo Arthouse director Joanna Robertson came over from Ireland about 30 years ago and says the festival is about sharing the long shared history between many Aboriginal and Irish people.
