Greens leader Adam Bandt says his party won’t block an Indigenous Voice to Parliament if it comes to a referendum in the next term of government.
It comes a week after the party said it would not rule out opposing a Labor government decision to hold a referendum on enshrining an Indigenous Voice to Parliament in the constitution.
Mr Bandt says his party holds concerns a referendum would be unsuccessful unless more progress is made on establishing a Truth and Justice Commission and beginning steps towards a treaty – the other key elements of the Uluru Statement.
Speaking to ABC Insiders host David Speers, Bandt says they want to set it up for success.
