Oxfam Australia is calling on communities who are holding events for National Close the Gap Day to register their activities.

Held annually on March 16 since 2006, the day aims to bring people together to share information and take meaningful action in support of achieving Indigenous health equality by 2030.

Last year more than 150,000 people took part in 1596 separate National Close the Gap Day events around the country.

Oxfam’s campaign coordinator Tom Widdup says it is even more important to register events this year following the latest closing the gap report which showed six of seven targets were not met last year
