The first stage of a 265km ancient First Nation’s pathway has been opened in Twofold Bay in New South Wales.

The Bundian Way has been used for thousands of years and passes through several major nations including the Yuin and the Ngarigo.

Acting CEO of the Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council and Yuin man Les Kosez says they are looking at opening up the rest of the track in several stages over a five year period.

The entire path will lead from the coastline around Eden to the alpine region of Mt Kosciuszko and is the first Indigenous pathway to be listed on the NSW State Heritage Register.

Mr Kosez is hopeful the project will create ten to twenty jobs for the local community in the form of tour guides, construction and maintenance.
