The Albanese government has accused the no campaign of being caught in a ‘flat out lie’ after volunteer phone scripts were revealed yesterday.
The official volunteer website for Fair Australia, which is run by the conservative lobby group Advance, suggests volunteers for the campaign should raise concerns around the effect of the Voice on Australia Day, reparations and treaties.
The script also suggests volunteers should not explicitly state they are part of the no campaign.
Speaking to the ABC, Wiradjuri man and co-chair of the Uluru Dialogue Roy Ah-See says the no campaign is ‘taking Australians for mugs.’
“This is absolutely disgusting. I heard someone else speak about it being misinformation, disinformation. I think that’s being generous. It’s lies. They are lying to the Australian people, taking them for mugs.”
