The Cronulla Sharks have overcome a bruising performance from a Greg Bird lead Titans side to record a hard fought 25 – 20 win over the Gold Coast.
Bird was on a mission against his former club with one tackle that saw Sharks half James Maloney exit the game leaving the Origin star facing a date with the judiciary after being with a grade two reckless high tackle.
Sharks backrower and Indigenous All Star Wade Graham (pictured) says while the club lost its way following the injury to Maloney and forward Luke Lewis, he was happy with the way the side knuckled down for the win that sees them locked in a four way tussle for second place on the NRL ladder.
