Hawthorn coach Alistair Clarkson (pictured) has praised his sides “never day die” attitude after fighting off the Western Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.

The Hawks lead comfortably mid way through the second quarter but by three quarter time, the Dogs had completely turned the tables on the premiership favourites  to lead by 19 points with a quarter to play.

Young forward James Sicily was the game breaker in the end with three final quarter goals getting Hawthorn home, leaving Clarkson full of praise for his sides ability to dig deep when they needed it most.
