The Chief Executive of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre says logging and climate change has forced them to modify traditional fire management practices to cope with the modern environment.

The comment comes as the state's central plateau and western regions have been devastated by bushfires which began with lightning strikes and experts say some regions will not recover.

The Centre has previously raised concerns of a lack of funding, autonomy or input in dealing with fires.
Chief Executive Heather Sculthorpe says they are already working on solutions which will be of benefit.
