Former Queensland skipper Gordon Tallis has offered his support to embattled Blues coach Laurie Daley over the exclusion of Greg Bird (pictured) from Origin Game Three next week.
The Blues have selected skipper Paul Gallen for his Origin swansong despite calls for the captain to be dropped to make way for the next generation of Blues players.
Veteran hooker Robbie Farah has also been selected for Game Three but fellow Blues stalwart Greg Bird has lost his spot and Tallis says with the coach under extraordinary pressure, he’s not surprised that the axe has fallen on the veteran hardman.
