Johnathon Thurstons reputation as possibly the greatest rugby league of all time was further cemented in Wednesday nights State of Origin thriller in Sydney.

Trailing a dominant Blues 16 – 6 at halftime, the Maroons rallied on the back of Dane Gagai’s 2 tries to level the match in the 77th minute leaving Thurston to break the Blues hearts with the matchwinning conversion.

Thurston (pictured) appeared to troubled by a shoulder injury throughout the match but he says after a night to recover, it injury is not as bad as it seemed and he’s hopeful of taking his place in the Cowboys team that takes on the Panthers in Townsville on Saturday night.
