Melbourne Demons midfielder Bernie Vince (pictured) says he believes the AFLs moves to protect players suffering concussion have improved safety for players across the board.

The AFL have begun cracking down on clubs that allow players to continue playing after being concussed following a number of instances of players appearing to play on despite being knocked out.

Vince, who admitted that he’d lied to club officials about being concussed, says he believes its a smart move by the AFL after continuing focus around the world on the long term damage to footballers from all codes who’ve continued to play on after being concussed.
