The Leader of the Opposition in the Northern Territory has pledged $50 million to establish a national Indigenous art gallery in Alice Springs.
NT Labor leader Michael Gunner made announcement ahead of the state election set to take place in August.
A location for the gallery is expected to be decided following the election with construction to start in 2020.
Mr Gunner says the move would boost the Territory’s tourism, create jobs and help preserve First Nations' history and culture.
