The news is all bad for the Gold Coast Suns with the news that Gary Abletts (pictured) shoulder is worse than was first expected.
Ablett and club stalwart Michael Rischitelli were both injured in the clubs badly needed win over the Lions on the weekend, with Rischitelli suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Suns Footy General Manager Marcus Ashcroft says unfortunately, the initial hopes that Abletts latest shoulder wasn’t serious have been dashed and the skipper will now undergo surgery before returning for pre season training in 2017.
