Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie has called for greater clarification of the rules regarding ball tampering.
The Kamilaroi quick (pictured) says while he believes the stiff fine handed to South African captain Faf Du Plessis was appropriate under the rules, there are too many grey areas involved.
The South Africans have laughed off the allegations, despite Du Plessis pleading guilty to the ball tampering charge, and Gillespie says more has been made of the incident than was warranted.
