The Gold Coast Suns will be without vice captain and backline linchpin Stephen May (pictured) for five weeks after he was found guilty by the judiciary of rough conduct on Tuesday night.

A contrite May pleaded guilty to the charge and said he was happy to accept the penalty.

The charge arose from May’s off the ball bump on Brisbane Lion ruckman Stefan Martin on the weekend and will cost the Suns dearly with crucial games to come, including this weekends clash with ladder leaders North Melbourne.
