Queensland have responded to the challenge presented by New South Wales in the most convincing of manners in Wednesday nights Origin decider.
With many pundits predicting the end of the Maroons decade long dominance of State of Origin football, the home side were never headed by the Blues before running out winners 22 -6.
The match was set to be the last in Maroon colours for Qld star Johnathon Thurston (pictured) who was ruled out of the decider by shoulder surgery but despite missing the match, nothing could wipe the smile from Thurstons face after the final whistle.
