In Alice Springs women and campaigners against domestic violence have taken to the streets, demanding change.

A group of hundreds, including former Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, marched through Alice Springs on Tuesday in support of Indigenous women against domestic violence.

Shirleen Campbell from the Tangentyere Women’s Family Safety group says women from town camps are making a stand.

The march comes as the Territory Labor government announced more than 100 police officers will be trained in using body-worn cameras to take on-the-spot video statements from victims of domestic violence.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner says it will make it easier for victims in court.
