A New South Wales Greens MP says the State Government is failing inmates and a lack of rehabilitation makes people churn through the justice system.

The comments come as an Auditor General’s report is released, finding that 75 per cent of prisoners in NSW don’t have the chance to complete rehabilitation they require before re-entering society.

Greens MP David Shoebridge says that 75 percent of people doesn’t even cover all who need rehabilitation programs and this greatly increases the chance of reoffending.
