Prior to his drafting by Adelaide at the 2015 AFL draft, 19 year old First Nations speedster Wayne Milera had doubts about whether his health would be able to sustain him as a professional footballer.
Picked up by the Crows with pick no. 11, Milera had been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat while playing for South Australia’s U/18’s but after surgery, was able to continue on to the AFL.
Milera (pictured) had his best game on the weekend, being named the AFL’s Rising Star nominee for his excellent three goal contribution to the Crows demolition of the Dockers in the Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash, and he says while happy with his progress in the game, he’s not planning on resting on his laurels any time soon.
