A local Aboriginal Land Council in NSW has been granted $700,000 to develop a business centre for its recently opened heritage walk.
The Bundian Way was an ancient pathway extending for about 360 kilometres from the coast to Targangal or Mount Kosciuszko.
In 2012 the walk became the first Indigenous pathway to be listed on the NSW State Heritage Register, and has been developed by the Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council.
The funding was announced by Indigenous Affairs Minister Nigel Scullion, who says the walk will become “an important tourist attraction in the Bega Valley.”
Acting CEO of the Eden land council Les Kosez says the opening of the path has been well received by the entire community.
