Bidjara academic Professor Marcia Langton says important and tangible outcomes for First Nations people can come by recognising what’s feasible.
Ms Langton appeared on ABC 24’s breakfast show this morning promoting today’s release of the book It’s Our Country: Indigenous Arguments for Meaningful Constitutional Recognition and Reform.
Professor Langton argued that while treaties have been struck with the crown in other Commonwealth countries, the same can’t be achieved here.
Ms Langton also says First Nations people in Victoria, who are about discuss options for a treaty with the state government, should opt for meaningful change.
