The uncle of a 22 year old Yamatji woman who died in police custody says the family wants the security footage of the incident publicly released.

The Western Australian Coroner heading the inquest into the death of Ms Dhu, Ros Fogliani ruled against releasing the footage for public viewing, saying she was concerned of long-term distress for the family and community.

The family were originally reluctant to release the footage, however Ms Dhu’s uncle, Shaun Harris says it’s capable of shocking the world and open eyes to racism in Australia.
