The Dumbartung Aboriginal Corporation in Western Australia opposes the suggestion of a royal commission on suicide in First Nations communities, saying nothing positive will come of it for our people.
A royal commission has been suggested following revelations of high rates of suicide in our communities, with 17 in the last 3 months alone.
CEO and Bibbulman man Robert Eggington says we don’t need more royal commissions and forums or conferences because First Nations people already know the solutions.
