A Goenpul rights campaigner from Stradbroke Island in Queensland’s south east, says the first task of an Assembly of First Nations should be to determine our “originality”.
An Assembly of First Nations has been proposed by Wiri silk Tony McAvoy, who says the body would be independently funded and work as a place all First Nations can work as a collective.
Goenpul man Dale Ruska says the first task should be for all First Nations to communicate and agree on what the importance and meaning of our originality is, and what it means for how we progress forward.
