RUGBY LEAGUE – Mal Meninga (pictured) will take the reins of the Kangaroos for the first time when Australia take on New Zealand in Newcastle on the 6th of May.

Meninga was a somewhat controversial appointment to the Australian job after reneging on an earlier agreement to resign as Maroons coach.

The Jillaroos will also take on the Kiwis in the curtain raiser at the same ground.

It will be part of a massive weekend of international rugby league with a Pacific Double Header featuring Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and Papua New Guinea being held on the following day at Parramatta stadium where the Junior Kangaroos will take on the Junior Kiwis in the curtain raiser
