AFL – Newly appointed Essendon captain Brendan Goddard says the remaining Bombers players are still struggling to come to terms with the year long ban applied to much of the Bombers list.

Goddard takes over the captaincy from Jobe Watson who was one of 12 current Bombers suspended for 12 months following the clubs doping scandal.

With club is expected to announce the signing of former Geelong star Matthew Stokes(pictured), Goddards says while many at the club are still struggling, he’s confident the club will be able to move forward following the latest episode in the famous clubs most tumultuous period.
