A 40-year-old Aboriginal man is in a stable condition after being shot by police south of Brisbane on Wednesday.
In a statement on Thursday, the Queensland Police Service said the incident remained under internal investigation.
Police said the man struck an officer with a hammer and threatened them with a screwdriver before he was shot.
It’s the latest in a series of police shootings of Aboriginal men in Queensland, including two fatal incidents this year.
