The head of the Secretariat for National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care says more needs based funding is needed for domestic and family violence in the Northern Territory.
Upon his departure to China, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese cited the high rates of domestic and family violence across the country saying society and people need to stand up and take responsibility.
Meanwhile SNAICC CEO Catherine Liddle says the Federal Government hasn’t made commitments to provide needs based funding to the juresdiction with the highest rates, the Northern Territory.
She told the ABC women in the Northern Territory don’t have support.
