Former New Zealand rugby league coach Graham Lowe  has slammed the team for its effort against Australia on Friday night and the behaviour of senior players Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor following  the match.

After being flogged by the Kangaroos in the ANZAC Test on Friday night, New Zealand skipper Bromwich and Proctor were alleged to have been observed by police consuming an illicit substance in the early hours of Saturday morning, although neither are expected to face police charges.

Lowe (pictured) says the defeat and the allegations against Bromwich and Proctor have taken New Zealand rugby league to depths from which the game may struggle to recover.
