A First Nations Senator has used January 26 to reiterate calls for a treaty and has called for non-Indigenous people to mourn the day along with us.
Speaking at the Invasion Day rally in Melbourne, Gunnai-Gunditjmara woman and Greens Senator Lidia Thorp said everyone needs to come together on this day to mark it for what it is, a day of mourning.
Ms Thorpe says if the wider population stands with First Nations people, we could move together.
