The Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has recognised the Frontier Wars in a speech to Parliament this week.
Speaking on Labor’s support for a Makarrata Commission – a formal body that would oversee truth-telling – Mr Albanese paid tribute to Aboriginal people who had been killed during the Frontier Wars.
The acknowledgement comes two weeks after Mr Albanese spoke at the National War Memorial in which he left out references to the Frontier Wars which had originally been written into his speech.
