5:20am – Dawn Reflection

Aboriginal artwork will light up the sails of the Sydney Opera house.

This year’s artwork is by Dharawal, Bidjigal and Dhungutti man Garry Purchase.

While the Opera House can be seen from many angles, it’s suggested that people should head to Overseas Passenger Terminal – 3 Circular Quay West, The Rocks for the best vantage point.

7am – Ride with us for Aboriginal Peoples

If you don’t mind a bike ride you can join the group at Kay-ye-my (West Esplanade, Manly).

The group will ride through Dee Why, Narrabeen, Robert Dunn Reserve and finish up at Church Point.

7:30am – 8:30am – The WugulOra Morning Ceremony

This is on the Walumil Lawns at Barangaroo Reserve and follows on from the Dawn Reflection.

WugulOra means “One Mob” in the local Gadigal language and the event celebrates the Gadigal culture through dance, song, and storytelling.

There will also be a smoking ceremony and speeches.

10am – Invasion Day Rally

This event is a protest against ongoing harm and dispossession experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Mob will meet up at Hyde Park before hitting the streets.

10am – 7pm – Yabun Festival

Australia’s largest one-day celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures will take place at Victoria Park in Broadway.

This event celebrates the survival and resilience of First Nations people through live music, panel discussions, market stalls, children’s activities, and traditional dancing.

5pm – Culture on Country

This is at the La Perouse Museum.

The event will feature live music, dance performances, and drop-in activities like weaving and shellwork.

It finishes up with a community BBQ.

Bundjalung Nation Survival Day (Byron Bay) – Apex Park from 10am to 2pm

Katoomba Survival Day – 11am – 4pm at Katoomba North Public School.

7:15am – Benarrawa Survival Day Ceremony

The Benarrawa Community Development Association is holding a local acknowledgement of Survival Day at the waters of Benarrawa (Oxley Creek).

Gather at the bronze canoe, near Simpson’s playground, end of Graceville Ave, Graceville.

The ceremony will be followed by a shared community breakfast.

10am –  Invasion Day Magandjin

Mob will gather at Queens Garden for speeches before hitting the streets at 12pm.

The event is a call to stand against colonial regimes and demand justice and truth-telling for First Nations peoples.

A line up of local artists, experiences, food and market stalls come together.

A traditional cultural Smoking Ceremony at Victoria Gardens in the Victoria Gardens, 10 Royal Street, East Perth.

12pm – Invasion Day Protest

Mob will gather at Forrest Chase, on Wellington Street in Boorloo (Perth) before hitting the streets at 1pm.

3pm – 8pm – Reflect and Respect Film Dome

The film dome will feature the films, Koora, Koora: A Long Long Time Ago, inspired from the storybooks of respected Aboriginal Elder Theresa Walley.

It will be on rotation with other films and there will be giveaways and other entertainment throughout the afternoon.

4pm to 11pm – Rubibi Survival Day

Goolarri Media is hosting a line up of Kimberley bands: Krui3ers, Darkside, Bloodwood, Saltwater Kin, Lexyanna.

If you head to the event it will cost $20 at the door or $15 plus a booking fee if attending online.

Tasmania

11am – Nipaluna/Hobart Invasion Day Rally

Mob will gather at the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre at 198 Elizabeth Street.

The march will start at 11:20am and head to the Parliament Lawn.

11:30am – Limilinaturi/Devonport Rally

The rally will gather at 106 Best St then head to Market Square, Paranapple Centre.

9:30am – Canberra Sovereignty Day Rally

The rally point for this one will be Garema Place.
