An independent review into the handling of the COVID 19 pandemic has been released and has found that government health measures and policies lacked transparency and further entrenched existing inequalities.
A Senior Medical Officer for a First Nations medical service in Far North Queensland has agreed with the report saying there was an imbalance in the way lockdowns were handled and affected the way their service provided care.
Dr Jason King from the Gurriny Yealamucka Health Service in Yarrabah says while there have been challenges throughout the pandemic, there have been some positives too.
