New research has found that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are more resilient to the heat than non-Indigenous people.

The Australian National University study also found that excessive use of air conditioning in hot regions like the Northern Territory stops people from acclimatising.

ANU’s Dr Simon Quilty says Indigenous people have had thousands of years to acclimatise and have better heat management behaviours.
