An Adnyamathanha man has welcomed the South Australians Government’s announcement of negotiating treaties with First Nations people suggesting it could influence other jurisdictions.

The state government announced it will negotiate with individual First Nations and has dedicated $4.5mn to the process with and Indigenous Affairs Minister Kyam Maher saying he expects the first to be negotiated within one year.

Terence Coulthard says it would be would be marvelous if it led to a national treaty.
