Former Queensland State of Origin captain Gordon Tallis (pictured) has lifted the lid on one of the games most controversial moments.

Speaking to Peter Sterling on Foxtel, Tallis would back the years to talk about the infamous encounter with Bill Harrigan when he was sent off late in the first game of the 2000 Origin series.

Tallis says while he concedes calling referee Harrigan a cheat was a bad look all round, the pressure of the moment got away from him to his long term regret.
