Four new Quandamooka rangers will start work on North Stradbroke Island under a four-year grant.

The positions are part of the Indigenous Management Agreement between the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation and the Queensland Government.

QYAC Chief Executive Officer Cameron Costello says they are excited to be able to provide an opportunity for the Quandamooka people to care for the country.

Another program set to be introduced by the partnership includes a fire management strategy incorporating traditional fire knowledge.
