TSIMA is short for Torres Strait Islanders Media Association. As well as operating a 24-hour radio station servicing the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula area, TSIMA is a Remote Indigenous Media Organisation or RIMO. TSIMA currently holds seven of the fourteen Remote Indigenous Broadcast Service licenses for the Torres Strait region including Poruma, Warraber, Iama, Erub, Mabuiag, St Pauls and Badu. The other licenses are held by the Torres Strait Island Regional Council.
