Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga (pictured) has set his sights on the rugby league World Cup to be played in Australia, New Zealand Papua New Guinea later in 2017.
Meninga replaced Tim Sheens as coach of the Kangaroos with a clear mandate to restore Australia as the No.1 rugby league nation in the world and made very post a winner as the Kangaroos went on to become Four Nations champions in November.
The next challenge for Meninga and his team is the World Cup which kicks off in October and the coach says the Cup is a vital component in increasing the codes standing in the international sporting world.
