The North Queensland Cowboys have joined eleven other NRL clubs in deciding against participating in the World Club series in February.
Cronulla take on Super League champions Wigan but NRL runners-up Melbourne have decided against taking part and ten other clubs, including the Cowboys have decided against taking the Storms place in the match against Warrington.
Johnathon Thurstons (pictured) team played in the corresponding match last year and he says while it was an enjoyable experience, the trip definitely had a negative impact on the clubs 2016 preparations.
