The AFL has made former umpire Brett Allen the 1`4th official inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame.
Allen (pictured) was inducted to the Hall at a Gala dinner in Adelaide alongside five other greats of the game that included Malcom Blight, Barry Hall and Anthony Stevens.
Allen, who was in charge of 346 AFL games also had the privilege in officiating the hotly contested International Rules games against Ireland and told of the time when he received some support from an unexpected quarter while under pressure from an Irish team unhappy with his officiating.
