The Australia Council has announced celebrated First Nations artist, Tracey Moffatt will represent the country at the Venice Biennale in 2017.
In what is considered a dual honour, the Brisbane-born photographical and video artist will present a solo exhibition at the internationally renowned Italian arts festival in Venice.
Ms Moffatt has already started preparing for the show which will see her become the first Indigenous artist ever to exhibit at the event.
