Qld coach Kevin Walters has pulled a selection surprise for Origin Game One, naming Anthony Milford to make his Queensland debut at five eighth.
Maroons champion Johnathon Thurston has been named as 18th man for the match on May 31 in a move designed to ensure Milfords presence in the Maroons camp for the Game One buildup.
There’s no doubt that Thurston will play if he can prove his fitness but the cagey Walters (pictured) says at the moment, it appears unlikely that Thurston will be fit to play.
