A Torres Stait Islander Actor/Producer has described Screen Queensland’s “Strait out of the Straights” is a golden opportunity for TSI Film makers.
The Strait out of the Straights program is an Australian-first partnership between Screen Queensland, Screen Australia and ABC iView in which early-career TSI writers, directors and producers will get the chance to develop a short factual series in a workshop led by David batty with two teams going on to make a series for iView.
Aaron Fa’aso has worked in the film industry for 11 years and has featured in series such as RAN, The Straits and Black Comedy.
He says the Torres Strait Islands are untapped and that in the past 15 years Indigenous productions have seen great success.
Applications for the Straight out of the Straits program close on March the 20th.
