24 year old Anawan woman Kyah Simon (pictured) says she hopes to inspire the next generation of First Nations sportswomen when she competes at the Rio Olympics later this year.
Simon has been a major force in the Matildas campaign to qualify for the Olympic soccer tournament and will be at the forefront of the teams chances in Rio.
Simon says watching Cathy Freemans gold medal performance at the Sydney Olympics was a major source of inspiration for her to pursue a professional sporting career and hopes she can do the same for the next generation of young indigenous stars.
