The AFL world is adjusting to the news that Hawthorn premiership star and Coleman medallist Jarryd Roughead’s cancer has returned and he will miss the remainder of the 2016 season.

Roughead (pictured) underwent surgery for a melanoma on his lip last year and missed a number of matches but the new diagnosis following a scan on Monday has come as a shock after earlier scans had declared him to be cancer free.

Hawks veteran Jordan Lewis says the news came as a shock for the club that had been anticipating Rougheads  return after successful knee surgery.
